        INK Morning Report preview
        for April 30th,
        "Insiders buy as
        VersaBank's VCAD is
Ethereum bound."
        VersaBank grabbed the
number two spot in
        our latest top
crypto-equities
        list published today.
        VersaBank is in
        the home stretch of
launching VCAD,
        the world's first
bank-issued
        and deposit-based stable
coin.
        As the name suggests, VCAD
is
        a stable coin based on the
Canadian dollar.
        Each VCAD issued or
redeemed will always
        have one-to-one value
        with the Canadian dollar.
        Each VCAD will essentially
        be a deposit made with
VersaBank.
        While VCAD will not
        be guaranteed by the
government,
        a big difference between
        VCAD and other stable
coins is
        that VCAD will be issued
by
        a regulated chartered
bank.
        The use cases for VCAD
        include payments as well
as
        savings and lending in
        decentralized financial
applications.
        VCAD is likely to be
        launched on the Ethereum
network.
        That will allow the coin
to
        potentially be
incorporated into
        a wide range of existing
        and developing DeFi
applications.
        Ethereum is seen as
becoming more
        valuable as adoption of
its network grows.
        This is likely one reason
why
        the European Investment
Bank chose
        Ethereum to launch
        its 100 million euro
        digital bond issue this
week.
        By the way, once VCAD is
launched,
        VersaBank is considering
issuing
        coins in other currencies.
        Insiders have been buying.
        It seems they understand
        the significance of the
        potential VCAD launch.
        However, investors have
yet
        to really catch on to what
is at stake.
        VersaBank is on the verge
of
        potentially disrupting
        the retail banking
industry,
        yet the company’s market
cap
        is only $319 million.
        As such, we are not
surprised to
        see a steady stream of
insider buying.
